'71


'71 is a reference to 1971, the year of independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan. '71 is a 5 piece band: Asadur Rahman Ashik [Mamu] - Guitars Sadat Hamid - Guitars Syed Jawad Quader - Vocals Sabbir Hossain Turjo - Drums Saad Muntazim - Bass With a name like that, they command a very focused area of songwriting, providing a commentary of present day Bangladesh politics and politicians. Their musical influences include Led Zepplin, Jimmy Hendrix, AC/DC and other rock mavericks old and new. They have released two singles so far: Arti (in Live Now, 2005) Gaw (in Rock 303, 2009) They are currently working towards releasing their debut album. Read more on Last.fm.
