The idea of 1900 Yesterday was concieved in 2002 in Ciamis, Jawa Barat, Indonesia, during a small conversation between Yudi Rizky Rewards and Hilman Yuniarto. They eventually invited another member from their previous band and, so, the new pop band was formed. On that same day In One Day song was written and the work on the band's first lineup was done. Original members were: Rizky Yudi Reward on bass, Hilman Yuniarto on vocals, Ilham Djauhari Hasan on semi-acoustic guitar, Iim Ibrahim and Irvan on guitars and Teguh Putra Indra on drums. However, since then, the band changed its name many times. From The Pacific Palisade then The Joyfull Fool and Fying The Giraffe they finally became 1900 Yesterday - a band name picked after the song performed by Liz Damon's Orient Express and brilliantly covered by The Happy Balloon (The Fine Art Of Ballooning, Siesta Records, 2001). The band's original formation managed to stay around for only about 1 year when Ilham, Iim, and Irvan had to leave due to time demanding jobs. That led to the band's second lineup: Rizky Yudi Reward on bass, Hilman Yuniarto on vocals, Teguh Putra Indra on drums, Muhammad Amin Effendi and Tony on guitars. However, Tony didn't stay around for much longer because he was very busy with studying at that time. Amin, Rizky and Teguh sadly left the band in early 2007 due to their jobs.
