1QA
1QA was formed in 1998, beginning their careers in the Smokefree Rockquest. The boys managed to take out second place in the Nationals in 2001 and have progressed into one of the countries best live acts. 1QA moved to Melbourne at the start of 2004, and since then have been playing furiously around Melbourne to extend the following they left behind back home. It is hard to describe what the 1QA sound is, but its mix of space and spaz guitars, tight frenetic drumming and a vocal range that drifts between beautiful melodies and an untamed roar, it is definitely an exciting sound unlike many others. The band has been together for 6 years and had toured back home constantly before deciding to bring their unique sound to the people of Melbourne. 1QA have shared the stage with some of NZ's best bands. Artists as varied as Fur Patrol to Blindspott, Weta, Product, MaryStaple and Carriage H. Band Members: Roland Jones (bass, vocals) Josh Moriarty (guitar, vocals) Alex Young (drums) Jonathan Toogood (guitar, vocals) Read more on Last.fm.
