Angst Pop

Started as a pet project (and an alias) of Per Aksel Lundgreen, known from Apoptygma Berzerk, Cronos Titan and Chinese Detectives, Angst Pop rose to contribute to the pioneer Norwegian EBM compilation CD, Sex, Drugs & EBM, released on Tatra Records as early as 1992!!! A video was made for the track Ødipus Rex, a video that was later re-mixed and re-modelled, and so was also the song, so the Ødipus Rex (Video Version) appeared on the Scandinavian Electro/Idustrial compilation Melt on Cyberware Records in 1995. Another song, Viva Ta Vie was recorded and produced with the help of Stephan Groth of Apoptygma Berzerk, and this featured the vocals of Isabelle Gernand of the band Sabotage-Q.C.Q.C. and can be found on the compilation album Electronic Youth Vol. 3 on the Music Research label in 1996. Other mentionable appearances by Angst Pop/Per Aksel Lundgreen, was the song Wrack'em To Pieces by Apoptygma Berzerk, that originally was an Angst Pop track, but while in the process of recording the 12 for Ashes To Ashes, the need for a B-Side appeared, and Stephan of Apoptygma asked if this track could be re-recorded and used for this purpose, and so it was. A punk friend of ours, Torro Sollie, came in and did the death metal vocals, and the song was recorded in the raw and immature version that you can find today both on the Ashes To Ashes 12 and on the Singles Collection and The Apopcalyptic Manyfesto, all by Apoptygma Berzerk.
