Animal Parlor


Animal Parlor is an indie folk band from Dallas, Texas. The band is composed of Meg Covington (vocals, guitar, ukulele), Alex Reisner (vocals, bass, guitar, banjo, ukulele, saw), Natalie Bradford (synth, mandolin, melodica, vocals), and Beto Hernandez (drums). Animal Parlor began in 2008, but self-released Drop Everything, their first EP, in January 2011. Their first LP is currently in production and is expected to be released in the summer of 2011. Their style has been described as psych-folk and indie rock, and they have listed a wide variety of influences including Sarah Jaffe, Warpaint, Bright Eyes, Radiohead, Cold War Kids, Tegan & Sara, Sufjan Stevens, Dear & The Headlights, The xx, Jeff Mangum, The White Stripes, The Beatles, The Kills, Elephant 6, Leonard Cohen, Kaki King, Half-Handed Cloud, Gorillaz, Beirut, Holly Miranda. Meg Covington and Alex Reisner are the principal songwriters of the band. Several of their songs include lyrics in French from Alex Reisner who is a Canadian. Read more on Last.fm.
