Balathon
Balathon came into existence in the last months of 2010 in Rijeka from the ashes of two bands - Acaid and Etnah. The remaining members of the two groups, long time friends, decided to join forces transforming the loss of their respective bands into something positive and productive. The band got down to work after a short period of discussions and negotiations over their new musical direction and despite having a hard time finding a permanent drummer. Damjan Denona joined the band in the beginning of 2011 thus completing the band's first line-up. Denona left in 2012 and has been replaced by Neven Varljen. The sound Balathon presents and shapes can be described as modern progressive rock. Their influences are mostly foreign and domestic progressive and psychedelic bands from the 60's, '70s and '80s, but they also gladly experiment with funk, jazz, heavy metal and various modern and alternative directions. Balathon set the goal of achieving a modern sound while still reviving the concepts of legendary rock bands that are undeservedly forgotten. Line-up: Mihael - acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, lead vocals Marko - electric and acoustic guitars, backing vocals Zvone - bass, backing vocals Luka - electric and acoustic guitars, backing vocals Neven - drums Read more on Last.fm.
