There are several artists named 'Band of Gold'; 1) In the late fall of 2012, Nina Mortvedt decided to gather some of her favorite Norwegian musicians in Harry?s Gym Recording Studio in Oslo, in order to record some music that she had been working on throughout the previous year. This simple recording marked the beginning of Band of Gold, as Nikolai H?ngsle Eilertsen and Nina Mortvedt realized they made a musical match, greater than they had hoped for. Together they continued working on new songs, inviting among others Reine Fiske (Dungen, Motorpsycho, The Amazing), Olaf Olsen (Todd Terje, Big Bang) and Lars Horntveth (Jaga Jazzist, Susanne Sundf?r) to join them in further studio recordings. The songs, all written and arranged by Mortvedt and Eilertsen, have come alive through ours spent in Eilertsens small rehearsal room in the eastiside of Oslo. In the late fall of 2014 Mortvedt & Eilertsen signed with one of Norway?s (most successful? most influential? hottest?) record labels- Jansen Recordings and started playing concerts as a band, joined by Olaf Olsen on drums and Peter Estdahl on keys and guitar. Upon receiving remarkable reviews wherever they played, word got around, and soon Band of Gold where picked up by Vegard Waske and Up Front Artists (booking).
