Barry Coope

In the early 1980s, Barry Coope was a member of innovative English folk band Muckram Wakes. Later he played with the folk supergroup Blue Murder. Around 1990 Barry Coope helped form Coope, Boyes & Simpson, a British vocal folk trio. The group comprises singers Barry Coope, Jim Boyes and Lester Simpson, and almost all of their music is sung entirely a capella, although they have occasionally used accordion, guitar and drums very sparingly on recordings. Their sound is rich and often has unusual vocal harmonies. Barry Coope has enjoyed a long-time collaboration with fellow English folk music legend John Tams.
