Bernholz

Bernholz is musician, sculptor and filmmaker Jez Bernholz, who composes, performs and produces experimental pop using a combination of 4 track, casio synths, digital samplers and sequencers. The critical response to his ‘Madonna quoting’ debut single 'Austerity Boy' (Anti-Ghost Moon Ray, 2012), established a promising first impression in UK press and radio, with support from BBC 6Music (Tom Robinson), BBC Introducing (Simon Price), and select tastemakers 20 Jazz Funk Greats. Two years in the making, Bernholz's debut album, How Things Are Made is now complete. Written in part as homage to legendary concept LPs such as Hounds of Love (Kate Bush, 1985), Low (David Bowie, 1977), and Big Science (Laurie Anderson, 1982); How Things Are Made is a cyclic suite of delicately layered cinematic soundscapes, contrasted against bold and fiercely catchy pop songs. Double A-side ‘My History/Alive’ is scheduled for release with an accompanying video on 21st April. Bernholz is one quarter of record label and artist collective 'Anti-Ghost Moon Ray', which has seen the release of albums and EPs by Acquaintance, Gazelle Twin and Great Pagans Read more on Last.fm.
