Best Kept Secret
Stemming from the sunny New South Wales central coast area, Best Kept Secret have emerged as one of Australia's premier pop/punk outfits. Featuring ex-One Dollar Short guitarist Tim Flaherty, the band has spent over 12 months in the studio refining their sound before recording their debut EP titled 'Unorganised Crime'. In March 2003 ECP Records signed BKS and soon after launched the EP nationwide and set them up for their Australian Tour to promote the release. The Best Kept Secret sound is a unique blend of catchy hooks, driving melody, harmonious vocals and an energy that is rarely seen. The boys' live shows have become notorious and have seen support slots with acts such as Grinspoon, Strung Out, No Use For A Name, Useless ID, The Porkers and many more. The first single from the EP Another Night quickly grabbed attention with Triple JJJ and numerous regional radio stations adding it to the playlist, not to mention the filmclip scoring 'Ripe Clip Of The Week' on Channel [V] spinning it into high rotation for over 3 months. With the CD only being released in May 2003, the guys have certainly shot up the ranks into rockstar status, and to top it all off they were recently nominated into the top 50 artists of the year on Channel [V] putting them in the running for an ARIA AWARD.
