Beyond Blue is a 5 piece band based in San Diego, California. The Band: Virginia Norwood - Vocals, Acoustic Guitar Virginia started performing in bands as a minor and remembers having to wait outside between sets. “I loved to sing as a child, but it wasn’t until I first heard Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart, and the backing vocalists of Lynyrd Skynyrd, that I knew I had to be in a band. I was hooked.” Virginia spent the next few decades performing in bands, graduated with a BA in Music, and studying voice with L.A.’s top vocal coaches. She now teaches private voice full time as San Diego’s only certified Speech Level Singing instructor. Joe Norwood - Guitar and Vocals A San Diego native, Joe is an active member of the San Diego music scene. Local performances include clubs, concerts, TV, and radio. He has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada as a member of several touring bands. Joe has extensive studio experience with his own projects, and as a session guitarist. He has written over 40 songs. Joe's many styles include: blues, rock, funk, R&B, and country. Joe was named Country Guitarist of the Year by the California Country Music Association (San Diego area) in 1996. He continued to perform locally with Beyond Blue.
