‘The big surprise’ Aardschok magazine Beyond Violet mixes rock, goth and metal. The band combines catchy melodies, an aggressive edge and a theatrical sound. Influences include Rammstein, Muse, Unsun, Within Temptation, Syrenia and Arch Enemy. The group was founded late 2008 by multi-instrumentalist and producer John Edwards, who previously released well-received material on several major and independent labels, ranging from industrial metal to latin pop. In 2009, Beyond Violet made its debut as the opening act for top symphonic metal act Autumn. After several personnel changes, the band now consists of English, Dutch and Italian members: Roxane (vocals), John (guitar), Ilona (keys), Joachim (bass) and Merlijn (drums). Beyond Violet continues to build a solid live reputation, based on evocative, emotional and melodic songs, played with a ferocious rock’n’roll attitude.
