Blue Sunshine Minds
Existing for a brief period of time between 2005 and 2007, Blue Sunshine Minds were a band of four high school friends based in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Their influences stemmed predominantly in the 60s and late 80s/early 90s. They tried to make music that represented what they were about and also wished to push the boundaries of music as art to the mindset of a society fixed on mind-numbing, short attention span, creativity lacking, next big thing, look at my clothes tripe. Sigur Rós and Brian Jonestown Massacre were big influences, not just by their music alone but the way in which they present it to a world with a focus on integrity and a challenge to society. Most of all music was just something that they all liked doing as it brought people together. During their lifespan the band met and played with like minded bands across the country such as The Astral Kaleidoscope, The Dolly Rocker Movement, The Laurels, The Sun Blindness & The Lovetones.
