Bob Marbach

Pianist/Composer. Bob Marbach began studying piano and composition at the tender age of eight years old in Denver, Colorado. With the encouragement of his family, Bob continued studying with many great teachers and mentors and In 1977 his hard work paid off when he received his B.A. in piano performance from Metropolitan State College. in 1979, Bob Marbach relocated to Memphis TN to attend the University of Memphis on an assistantship to study jazz and classical music. Upon graduating with an M.A. in piano performance in 1982, Bob continued to perform and record in the midwest with many diverse artists and in many unique settings. From being a guest soloist with the Memphis Symphony and Memphis Civic Orchestras, to broadway shows, solo concerts and evenings on historic Beale Street, Bob was in high demand as leader and sideman. In addition to keeping a busy performing and recording schedule, Bob taught piano and improvisation at The University of Memphis and at Shelby State Community College from 1989-1997. In 1997, Bob relocated to New York City and is currently performing with dance ensembles at Alvin Ailey, Dance Theatre of Harlem and Marymount Manhattan College.
