Eagle Lake Owls


Eagle Lake Owls sing folk songs about small town life, long winters and endless summers, filtered through a dusty car window. Singer/guitarist Andy Cole, cellist Nathan Krahn and multi-instrumentalist Dominique Lemoine paint vivid pictures of the Canadian prairies with sparse acoustic arrangements. Guitar and cello cradle guy-girl vocals that sweep from hushed tones to desperate howls, clinging to harmony. Trumpet and banjo punctuate the minimalist arrangements. With a sound compared to Jeff Mangum and Sufjan Stevens, Eagle Lake Owls have emerged as one of Winnipeg's most promising new folk groups.
