A new electronic music trio, comprised of Spencer Gray on synthesizers and drum machine, Patrick Moore on electric bass, and Andrew Grathwohl on laptop and drum machine. The group aims for a combination of edgy electronic improvisations and complex dance rythms. All three members of the group are students of the Recording Arts department at the Jacobs School of Music (Indiana University). They founded Eastern Extreme after many successful jams under a number of different instrumental configurations. Among the instruments used currently by the trio are a Moog Voyager synthesizer, a Micro Korg with vocoder, and a laptop with a multi-media improvsation/performance interface coded by Grathwohl under the SuperCollider synthesis language.
