Ecoplan

Luc Hespel also known as Ecoplan was born in St Brieuc in Bretagne ; he grew up in the Charente-Maritime area and started his studies at La Rochelle . In 1997 he took up multimedia studies in Paris and got specialized in webdesigning. Ecoplan has a keen interest for music, not only graphics. Electronica, IDM and Clic'n'Cuts are appealing to him. Influenced by bands like Boards of Canada, The Future Sound of London or Aphex Twin and labels such as Mille Plateaux, City Centre or Tomlab, he decides to be Ecoplan in 2002 and produces his own album Elevator Friendship. He is soon noticed by webzines and Laurent Garnier who will play his Bumblebee Pop track during the Sound and visual performance act “Inventaire avant disparition” in the Palais de Tokyo, in December 2003. Ecoplan's style has something of double-edged atmospheric electronica, something in between childlike sounds, musical boxes and deeper and darker sounds as sharp and threatening as surgical blade.
