Eddie Cotton


Eddie Cotton, Jr. is an electric blues guitarist from Clinton, Mississippi. Cotton's musical background includes formal musical training at Jackson State University and lessons from Jackson-area bluesman King Edward Antoine. The son of a minister, Cotton also served as minister of music at his father's church. Eddie Cotton was chosen to portray Robert Johnson in a short film by Los Angeles filmmaker, Glen Marzano, about the legendary guitarist. Cotton was also featured in a Mississippi tourism commercial in the late 1990s, alongside Clarksdale's Blues Barber, Wade Walton, to promote the state's cultural and musical heritage. Cotton's 2000 live album is entitled Eddie Cotton: Live at the Alamo Theater. He was voted second best blues artist in the 2009 Best of Jackson issue of the Jackson Free Press. Read more on Last.fm.
