Life Stage

Life Stage is a Progressive Metal trio based out of Magnolia, Texas. Originally formed as a 4-piece in September of 2008, the original lineup consisted of vocalist/guitarist Ross Phillips, guitarist Rocky Phillips, bass player A.J. Grigson, and dummer Andy Emerich. The band, who had played together since 2006 under the name 4 Alarm, decided it was time to change their name, and record their first EP during the fall and winter of 2008/2009. After having finished the recording process, A.J. decided to leave the band for personal reasons, and, cousins Rocky and Ross, who had started the band together, also decided to split up, with Rocky leaving to persue his own musical interests. Because of these setbacks, the release of their EP was delayed until August of 2009. After the release of their first studio album, Stage 1 (2009 EP), Andy and Ross quickly began searching for new players to fill out their linup, but were not sure how the pieces were going to fit together. Soon, an old friend from their hometown, Chris Miller, came on board to fill in on bass, and after playing a handful of shows as a three-piece performing their recorded EP, Life Stage decided just to continue on, and persue new music as a trio.
