Life of Bianca. Life of Bianca is Steven Evanne Heinstein. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, his horn-playing father spun Miles Davis and ABBA records, while his two brothers blared The Cars and Iggy Pop. Steven took a liking to the post-punk/new romantic pop sounds across the Atlantic from The Clash to Tears for Fears, as well as Motown. Attending various boarding schools, which Steven detested as “nauseating,” he found himself suspended for the day at age ten and spent the day locked in a room with instruments. More school shifting, theatre camps, substance experimenting, and various bands eventually brought Steven to Los Angeles at eighteen to study jazz at the prominent USC School of Music. After two years, failed major label deals, and a lack of fondness for “Hollywood,” Steven returned to Boston where he formed a neo-soul drum and guitar duo. He enrolled at Emerson College as a creative writing major, while living in a recording studio and working at a posh discotheque at night. Trips, records, and tours followed, around the U.S. and Europe, where Steven soaked up the sophisticated pop and dance floor beats. On a return trip from a summer in Paris, Steven went to New York City to record his brand of indie synth-rock. Receiving critical praise from the hippest of rock rags, Steven returned to Boston where he formed the happy-sad synth band Style17.
