Lighters is an Emo/Pop-Punk band from Rochester New York. Lighters formed in 2015 after a name change from Cult Classic. Cult Classic, starting as a three piece Garage outfit, Formed the summer of 2013 after the break up of Ska band No Collar. They featured Matthias Galley on vocals and guitar, Nathan Kester on vocals and bass, and William Westveer on Drums. Cult Classic played their first show on September 5th 2013 at the Bug Jar. On November 12th 2013 Cult Classic opened for Gringo Star and The Demos at the Bug Jar. Cult Classic released their 5 song demo Take One January 27th 2014. The spring of 2014 saw the addition of Jacob Walsh to drums as Will moved to lead guitar. The band continued to play shows at bars around Rochester New York. Slowly shifting to a more pop punk sound, Cult Classic played shows with Pop-Punk and Emo bands in Rochester, NY. In the fall of 2014 Nate left the group to pursue a college education. He was replaced by Alan Pelton who currently plays bass and sings back up in Lighters. Cult Classic started recording a new EP that fall. Following the line up and sound changes Cult Classic decided to change their name. Coinciding with their Self Titled EP release on January 23rd 2015, Cult Classic changed their name to Lighters. Lighters continues to play shows in Rochester NY and Upstate New York. On Febuary 3rd 2015 Lighters Played a show with Empire! Empire!
